Does anyone here understand English???? NOBODY showed any Afghanis cheering and handing out candy. NOBODY. The people that were cheering were Palestinians that had NOTHING to do with the attacks. The reason they were cheering is that they have lost many more thousands of lives - in way more disgusting and demented ways than the bombings you saw - at the hands of US support of Israel... in the form of weapons (the average American pays more than $10 per year in taxes toward the Israeli military - Sure you didn't know that, but those kids on the streets do), in the form of vetoeing UN Resolutions to send an International Protection Force to the area (as most of you hopefully know, the USA is the ONLY country who decided to veto this resolution), and of course by refusing to sign another UN bill denouncing the Israeli army's brutality (94% of voting nations voted FOR it. 94!!! If you have any concept of United Nations votes, you know that this is one of the most enormous majorities experienced in your lifetime. The only nations to vote against it were Israel and the US... and a few - maybe 3 or 4 - US-"controlled" island nations in the pacific somewhere). The horrific US acts are endless, and have helped maintain the quasi-holocaust situation that the Palestinian people have been trying to fight off for a little over 50 years. So sure they are happy!! But they did NOT do a thing. Man, I think they're even running out of rocks to throw! The only difference between them and us is that they have to blame their leaders of old for not having built up a military to protect them (from the Israeli regime), and we have to blame our leaders for supporting such a regime. [Of course there are 1001 political and economic advantages to supporting Israel, but morally, we're going to hell]

Shock, Pain, Fear, Sorrow, Anguish, Outrage, Disbelief, Anger, Devastation, Desperation.....

... are just words. Nothing can describe the most horrific attack this nation has seen. I have been watching live coverage via 24 hour TV in England & can't begin to fathom the utter destruction & devastation of what has occurred.

To those that have lost loved ones, my deepest condolences. To those with loved ones missing, my prayers are with you. To those who are helping with the rescue/recovery in all locations, be aware of all the support of the nation & how proud we are with of all efforts to find any survivors.

My thoughts are with all those that have been affected by this horrendous tragedy & those to blame for this act of despicable violence, will be brought to justice with the help of all nations.

Tuesday 11th September 2001 will be a date never forgotten. With deepest sorrow, it will be remembered for the day that thousands of innocent people lost their lives. It will also be remembered for when ALL NATIONS (of the Free & Democratic world) united as one to act against terrorism.

Let us all hope that we never have to bear witness to another disaster as we have done on this unforgetable Tuesday.

I am sure that these are the same sentiments shared by millions all over the world as well as Great Britain.

Please know that our thoughts & prayers are with the American people who have been hurt, lost, or are unsure of loved ones.

I would like to note, until today, we have never seen a nation so united & brave, than the United States of America.

God bless,

Neegat Ali
Birmingham, England

... leaving two people to be mad at:

#1 (for now): Osama Bin Laden and his own demented beliefs

#2 (for quite a while longer): Our own government (read the great words of rskelly above)
