Yesterday, I was to be blowing out candles on my birthday cake....instead I am burning candles for all of those who have perished because of a senseless act of violence and cowardry.
My birthday, as many others born September 11, will now and forever be marked as the darkest day of death. How ironic.
My deepest heartfelt sympathies to all who are suffering. I'm sure I speak for many people when I say "I feel so helpless".
I am however, in the process of contacting mariners throughout New Jersey to place a "marine blue" ribbon on their vessels in remembrance of the lives taken and support for our nation. Please...if you own a boat, place a "marine blue" ribbon on it.
Thank you,
Anita

Words fail to convey the depth of the sorrow, the outrage, and the compassion I feel. Tears do not lessen the hurt that has blossomed in my heart and soul with the devastating suffering experienced by so many.

I am a Registered Nurse from Ontario, Canada. Never before, in my 37 years, have I experienced such a sense of being a part of the human family, nor felt such grief at the loss of so many members of that family and the pain suffered by those left behind to rebuild what has been so cruelly torn asunder.

I extend my most fervent prayers to you all during this dark time, and send to you the whole of the love, hope, and strength that I have within me to send.

In the Spirit of Caring,

Carolyn Smith

My heart is broken at the destruction and loss of lives caused by this cowardly act. So much pain - for so many - to satisfy the egos of a few subhumans. Something I haven't heard voiced yet: my one-year-old grandson, and millions of other innocent children, won't grow up feeling safe and secure because they're Americans. My pain is beyond words for these children and the victims and their families. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
