Words cannot express the horror and sadness of this event, but I wanted to offer my thoughts, prayers, deepest sympathies to all those involved and all those suffering. Though I now feel powerless, I have to believe that the goodness of people will prevail and that we will, as a nation, somehow get through this. We are forever changed, and I can only hope that we are able to rally together as both Americans and humans to do whatever it takes to heal. I grieve for all those lost, those still missing, and their families.

Although I am in Atlanta, New York has always
been like a second home to me. I want to give
blood but have never been able to do so due
to persistent anemia, so I donated to the Red
Cross today, and I have posted a notice on the
high-traffic site I work for to get others to do the
same - but it doesn't seem like enough. I
have many items I would like to contribute if
they can be used, including clothing, food,
towels, household items, and a bed with a
trundle unit (pop-up cot, so essentially two
twin beds), with plenty of bedding too.
Although I have no means of transporting the
bed from my home, everything else can be
transported in my car. Please email me at
amanda@humor.
com
if you know of anyone
accepting this kind of donation in the Atlanta
area, or if there is anything at all I can do to
help. I, along with my family and friends,
share in this unbearable sadness and pray
that an unprecedented peace and unity will
come from it.

America is going to come out of this waving her flag higher and prouder than ever. She cannot be kept down. She will prevail and when she does everything will be right with the world again. She is angry and she's got an attitude. That attitude discribed as arrogance by some is simply pride. That attitude will be what makes America rise above this atrocity and allow her wounds to heal. With God's help and guidance we will emerge victorious. God bless America.

I am going to New York to help....

there are lists of shelters set up, etc... and the er workers already there need relief... so I and a friend of mine are both going though we have no idea how we will get there yet...

the Red Cross takes applications... for those who wish to volunteer... but we need to be there Now... it feels like it anyhow....

I cannot spend my energy on hating those who did this... but I will gratefull and willingly spend it to help put things back together...
