Manhattan's sky a blazing red
quickly followed by billowing clouds.
The first explosion shook the ground
the second shook the world all around.

The towers shinning in the morning's sun
vanished before a shocked nation's eyes.
All those who looked upon the unforseen
knew the devastion of a tragic war like scene.

Tears fell around the world today;
nations sat paralized by what they saw.
Thousands lost in the collapsed ruins
in lower Manhattan as the twin towers fall.

Fithy thousand civilians working hard for a day's pay
doing what was right by earning a honest living.
Reliable and dependable people they all were
now lie beneath the towers, gone in a blurr.

Fear struck the hearts of the American people,
as they sat waiting to hear of loved ones missing.
Walking around in a daze as the life they knew collapsed
unaware of what to expect from this unknown mishap.

Planes falling from the sky without any warning
just a few knowing they'd been hijacked moments before.
So much hatred creating this terroristic act,
hate for America, knocking it flat on its back.

those rescue workers who go in knowing no fear.
Volunteering their lives for those trapped within
knowing they may never come out again.
