Thank God there are still some sane thinking people on this website. An eye for eye is OK so long as it is someone else's eye, not yours. Alright, so perhaps up to 20,000 innocent people have died in horrific circumstances but that number got killed on Day 1 of the Battle of the Somme in World War 1- that solved nothing - it only led to World War2, Korea, Vietnam, the Falklands and now a more subtle kind of war.

No nation, not even USA, can stand entirely on its own and ignore its fellow-men world wide. The world is very interdependent, more especially in this high-tech age. I guess the African and Middle-Far East countries don't want to be all little Americas of their own but they do deserve not to be exploited for all time for their resources.
I'm a Scot, worked for 15 years for a US company and was thrown on the scrapheap with 800 others in 1992 when times got tight and they retrenched back to Detroit. I don't hate America for that but I can't say I like their use and abuse system of free enterprise. Now Motorola are doing the same for another 3000 of my compatriots. No conscience, no nothing except sign this contract not to speak to the media or you don't get your redundancy pay. While this sort of commercial rape and pillage goes on in country after country, it's no wonder a few extremists take it into their heads to fight back in the only way they know how. Doesn't make it right but sure as hell points the way forward as to how the richer and more powerful ought to behave - a little more understanding by all the Western powers of other countries and their problems could go a long way towards removing the need for terrorism, more so than any number of bombs and the consequent collateral damage.

I don't think I shall ever forget the sight of those planes ploughing through the WTC but I also remember those pictures of the little girl running for her life ablaze with napalm in Vietnam- was she a terrorist or waging war against the US? Perhaps enough people have paid with their lives already - it's time to stop retribution and start learning from the futility and waste of a hundred years of war. I'd be a much prouder Scot if UK agreed to cancel all its debts from the third world and Christian Aid had to make all its workforce redundant - then we would really have achieved something. Come on, America, get George W. to give us the lead in that if you're really serious about being a superpower. Fight world poverty, not terrorists, and WIN. You can do it. Take Bin Laden's head and there will be another 100 just like him.

Just stop it all of u. It's getting to much. Go and pray, give blood and do whatever u can wherever u r in the world and whoever u r. Doesnt' matter abt what religion u r, what nationality, where u live what u do whatever. If u cant do much then PRAY. At the end of the day there is one Creator who created us all and sent us down on this one earth - he didnt divide us...we did that.

I am just so saddened and so hurt by what happened. And when I think of how those people suffered I feel so down. Nothing feels good anymore. Then I see people dieing to take revenge and people already believing that Bin Laden or whoever did it and whatever.

Let the people working on it find out. Be patient. I am just as hurt. In fact I am so hurt and shocked I can't seem to do anything and I thought i will see what people think and maybe that will make me feel better. Instead I am hurting more.

At this time in these places we should be sending warm wishes to the families/friends of those suffered.

Let them find the ones who did it and bring them to Justice. But dont start jumping to conclusions and then start swearing and whatever and then start cursing the whole of Afghanistan or Saudi or Muslims. There are people among them who also care. Look at the people as human beings.

No one is all good and no one is all bad... everywhere u go u will se all kinds. America I know u r hurt and suffering. Every country have done so at one point or another. Some worse than others. It's not just u.

I hope things get better for u. I will pray to the Creator to make things better. We all should. Ask Him to bring justice and let that happen which He feels best. Becoz atthe end of the day HE created and He knows.

BLess u all.

I may live in the Philippines, a country that's far from the States; but as a human being, I feel a great amount of pain and sorrow especially for all those who may have loved ones that are dead or are still missing. My heart goes out to all of you; and if there's something I can do to help, I would do it. In the meantime, you can be assured that I am continuously praying for all of you (not only the people in WTC and Pentagon, but also for their loved ones) and may God continue to give all of us hope.

I also give my full appreciation and admiration for all the rescue people and police officers who work continuously to look for survivors. I know it must be difficult and frustrating for them; however, as we continue to hear reports of people who are trapped under rubble but are still alive and okay, we must continue our efforts and our prayers.

May God give us all strength to overcome this tragedy.

God bless us all. God bless America!

No one can say what this has done to us as Americans. Never in a million years could we have imagined our freedom stripped in such little time. We must stand strong, pray, pray for comfort, strength, most of all we must pray especially for those & families of those truly affected by this attack. GOD BLESS OUT NATION FOR WE ARE TRULY BLESSED!!

Hi, my name is Jacqueline McAdory and I'm trying very hard to locate a friend of mine, who worked at the Pentagon. His name is CPT, MDW Richard Cureton. I've left several messages at his home in MD, but no returned call from Richard Cureton and I'm really concern about him. If anyone has any information about Richard Cureton or his whereabouts, please email me asap, so my heart can be at ease and at peace knowing he's at rest or ok. jmcadory_lee@hotmail.com
