My fellow Franciscan Sisters and I, like so many, are praying for all the victims in NYC and DC and their families, that the Lord will bring you comfort and healing in your pain. As Christians, we know that the message of the Lord Jesus goes beyond "an eye for an eye", which is really taken from the Law of Hammurabi and represents the justice of its day. Our Lord said, "You have heard... but what I tell you is: LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, pray for your persecutors. Only so can you be children of the heavenly Father who makes his sun shine on the just and on the unjust alike."
America's greatness has shone forth in this dark moment as so many people admirably reach out to help any and all in distress. I feel so proud to be an American.
God bless America and God bless those who have let us use this site. I have found messages of hope and compassion rather than of hatred and prejudice.
