We need to let these cowards know that they have failed! We stand tall and united...freedom will prevail! GOD BLESS AMERICA
we everyone in Small Planet Foods , winton, California sends our hearts and prayers to all the victims and families that suffered from this tragedy.
As a retired police officer, my heart not only goes out to all the families who have suffered a terrible loss but also to the bravery of the emergency services who are in attendance and those who gave up their lives to help others.
I pray that some survivors may still be found alive. Here in Scotland we saw and lived through the tragedy at Lockerbie. We are again united in grief with our American friends and will support any response.
I live in NJ and work in New York. My name is Natasha. Although I am not a rescue worker I am willing to help any way possible – to clean up, in a shelters. Or I can take to my home school age children, whose parents are missing, – to go to school with my children and live with us until their parents or relatives are found.

As all Americans, I am truly saddened and outraged at the cowardly and egregious deeds of this demon. I am searching for a dear friend who worked in the towers, his name is CHARLES ZION. If anyone has any information, please contact me at @aol.com">Scuttles1959@aol.com. God Bless You and above all, GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I want to help. I am a construction worker and
am used to working under intense conditions.
I can weld, run a torch and operate any
machinery. I can also shovel with my bare
hands if need be. I am 34 and able to help the
rescue workers digging out the rubble and
give rest and relief to those who have worked
so tirelessly since this nightmare began. I
want to help and need to spend my energies
trying to help with this situation. If anyone
knows who to contact to volunteer for this type
of help please email me. Thanks.

To All My Sisters and Brother here in the U.S.,
I live in Las Vegas, NV and would like to volunteer to help anyone stranded here by the tragedy. I have prayed and cried nonstop for these last few incomprehensible days. I tried to volunteer through the Red Cross, but was told I would have to be trained first. I would like to find out if there are relief or charities in the NYC area that are still in need of help by ordinary people with two strong hands and a good heart. I am willing to go and help anytime. My email address is picturepeg@att.net. May God be with us all.
I want at give my deepest sympathy to the entire american people.

I just wanted to show that people in other contries do care about what happend and you`re

To Whom It May Concern:
Please find enclosed my manuscript for Chris Cub Can Smile Again: A Story for Children Who've
Experienced Trauma because of School Violence (directly or indirectly), Natural Disaster, or War. This 250
word story is written for children ages 4-9. Please remember children tend to emotionally regress when
traumatized.
Chris Cub Can Smile Again is different from other works for children on trauma because it utilizes all
Diagnostic Statistical Manuel's Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (P.T.S.D.) criteria in addressing the feelings
and behavioral responses that happen to Chris Cub (this is how P.TS.D. manifests specifically in children). It
provides a realistic model demonstrating how a child might experience and cope with trauma. It is presented
in a non-threatening fashion (specific in its characterization of symptoms, but non-specific in terms of what
happens) using bears and the forest as a metaphor. The rhyming presentation may serve as a self soothing
tool in and of itself and may help to reduce anxiety. The book is reassuring to its readers because it tells
them by its very existence that they are not alone in their experience and reactions.
It may be important to note that children don't need to suffer all of the effects of P.T.S.D. to benefit from this
book. Any child who has experienced violence, natural disaster or war can identify with Chris Cub's
emotions.
Please copy this book and distribute to as many people as possible. This book should be stapled and used as
a coloring book. Please distribute and copy to schools especially in the NYC area and the Washington, DC
and Virginia areas. If anyone has access to the Red Cross, please make copies of this coloring book
available to them. We may even be able to get the book to a news station so the book can be made available
via call ins. Because I have two babies at home and my husband is relocating to Arizona tomorrow, I need as
much help with distribution as possible! Thanks!!
Yours sincerely,
Jeanine Austin

Introduction for Parents, Educators, Therapists, Social Workers, Community Leaders and Trauma/Crisis
Team Personnel
This book addresses the needs of children developmentally ages 4 to 9 who have experienced school
violence (directly or indirectly), natural disaster or war. It may be especially important to note that children
do not need to experience violent situations first hand in order to suffer some of the effects of trauma. Older
children (ages 9, 10, and 11) may benefit from this book because children who are traumatized often
emotionally regress. This bibliotherapeutic intervention can be utilized following the event(s) and may be
read to a child or by the child (at least initially with an adult) as a means to further address and reduce the
trauma response. Children may want to read this book, written in rhyme, in a repetitive way in order to self
soothe. Children should be able to access their own copy of the book at will. It may also be important to note
that children don't need to suffer the full effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (P.T.S.D.) in order to
enjoy and benefit from this book. Any child who has experienced violence (directly or indirectly), natural
disaster, or war can identify with Chris Cub's feelings.
The criteria for the diagnosis P.T.S.D. have been identified in this story with special attention to the way
P.T.S.D. manifests in children including: intrusive thoughts, hypervigilance, post-trauma play (repetitive,
robotic or "stuck" play), psychological distress when exposed to reminders of event, reactivity (irritable and
angry outbursts), avoidance, difficulty concentrating, sleep disturbances, exaggerated startle response,
restricted range of affect, diminished interest in significant activities such as play, and feelings of detachment
(children have described this to me as feeling "fuzzy" inside). Some children may not have acute, chronic or
delayed onset P.T.S.D. symptomology, but they can benefit from the book's reassurance and normalizing of
feelings and provision of a coping model. If you are not a therapist and you suspect a child maybe suffering
from serious symptoms of trauma, please seek a psychiatric evaluation for your child.
Parents and educators, please familiarize your school board, principal, P.T.A., other educators and parents
with this book in the event that a disaster or violent act should strike your school setting. Psychotherapists
should have copies of this book on hand to be prepared in the event of a disaster. Philanthropic organizations
such as The Red Cross, Catholic and Jewish Charity Organizations, Women's Shelters, Community
Counseling Centers, Child Guidance Clinics, Departments for Youth and Family Services, Court Appointed
Special Advocates/Guardian ad Litems, Regional Centers, Children's Residential Treatment, Shelter and
Group Home settings and Religious Organizations may want to have several copies of this book available for
distribution and utilization in the event that their community suffers a disaster or act of violence.
Moreover, trauma experts who travel to war torn countries can utilize this book with children who suffer the
effects of war because symptoms of trauma are universal.
