I have been checking lists of victims of the earthquake that hit Taiwan,
but unfortunately, have only been able to find them in Chinese. Are
there any lists out in English? Thank you-my brother is in Taichung,
and I am desperately looking for information. Thanks again
I am looking for information on
Jin-Chuan Hsu and his family.
The last address I have for Jin-Chuan is
No. 8, ALY. 16, Ln. 60
TUNGSAN ST.
Hsin-chu
His family lived elsewhere.
I tutored Jin-Chuan in English when he was attending UC Berkeley and met his parent when they came to visit him in California.
My e-mail is andrea_daniel@yahoo.com
Thank you for your help.
I am very concerned about a dearest friend of ours in Kaohsiung, Maya Salang. If there's any news about her, please contact myself (email address: ccorpus@lsil.com or atechristie_99@yahoo.com). Thanks a lot.
I'm trying to find information on two friends in Taiwan whom I've lost track of; both are teachers. Eric Kriekhaus, who teaches math at Tapei American School; and Matthew Szweda, who teaches English at another school (I don't know the name). Thank you. --Dan Piquet
IMPORTANT:
Please see Fred Chang's message, posted 9/23 at 04:10 a.m. (higher up on this page). He suggests that long-distance phone carriers donate the cost of all long-distance calls to and from Taiwan during the last several days as part of an overall Relief donation. Surely, in charges to individuals and companies, these calls will add up to many thousands of dollars. Certainly, it would be a generous and compassionate gesture by AT&T, and all the other long-distance carriers, to absorb these costs as a contribution to the Taiwanese people during this terrible time.
I don't have the time to organize this, personally, but if you can help, please contact Fred at the following email address. If something gets going, I can volunteer some time, to help with emails and so on.

To Karen,
The names of the victims from other countries should not be written in Chinese, so you can still scroll down the list for information.
My husband, Bob Sprigle, is in Taipei with his Singaporean partners Danny Sim and AK Phua, to conduct a golf certification course for the United States Golf Teachers Federation. Heard on Monday that they were safe after the initial quake but have had no word since then. I don't know where the course is being held and cannot get through via phone/fax to the contact numbers I was given. If anyone has any information about them, please email me at @aol.com">nirurama@aol.com. Thank you.

We are praying for all our Taiwan frinds.
After the main earthquake and many aftershocks struck Taiwan, which caused thousand of deaths and injured as well as serious destruction, the immediate aids are needed. While helps are coming from all over the world, I urge all long distance phone companies donate the amount of charges to all calls that we made to Taiwan on 20th, 21st, and 22nd as relief funds. Please help Taiwan!
Please send the above message to your long distance phone company.
Sincerely,
fschang@pacbell.net

It is always hard when disaster of this scale takes place. I felt bad when an earthquake shook Turkey, but it seems unrealistic when the disaster hits close to home. I left Taiwan when I was two years old. That doesn't mean I forgot where I am from. My condolences to those who lost loved ones.
Grandpa, grandma, there are no words to say how "happy" or rather "relieved" I am that you're both fine.
God bless you, Amy Wang of Tainan, Taiwan -
