Are most of the phones now working in the Tai CHung area? What is the status of the area? How many people are homeless because of the disaster? Is is possible to get to Tai CHung from Taipei via bus???
I am deeply concerned for the safety of my friends which I still have not heard from. I pray that all is well for Taiwan and its people.

Central Taiwan was rattled with a fresh, powerful aftershock Sunday morning, sending debris tumbling from damaged structures in areas hard hit by Tuesday's massive earthquake.

Local television reported that the preliminary magnitude of the aftershock was 6.8, compared with the 7.6 magnitude of the original quake. Power was cut in parts of Taichung, a city badly damaged in the initial tremor.

It is very unfortunate event. I am very much shocked and express my deep sympathies to the families of all those victims of the earthquake. I also appreciate magnanimous help delivered by the Chinese government putting aside all differences. I pray that their soul rest in peace.

To everyone who wants the name lists of the victims:
You can go to http://www.nfa.gov.tw/report/list_d.htm
Though this page is in Tranditional Chinese, yet I think the names of foreigners are listed in English. Please be patient.
If you want to find your Taiwanese friends, there is no data in English available now.

The epicenter is in Nantou. Most damages are in Taichung and Nantou. I think people in Hsingchu, Taipei, or the rest places of Taiwan are OK.

The situation is bad in all area of Nantou, and some places in Taichung (Tung-Shih, Hsin-Sheh). Two buildings in Fengyuan collapsed.

P.S.
The links in the web page are the county names.

Taipei City, Taipei County, Taichung City
Taichung County, Changhua County, Nantou County
Yunlin County, the rest

I really feel sad for all people who died and been hurt by the events, even if I live far away from tw. For the coming weeks, be careful and wish the country find another breathe.
