To John D. THANK you for your informative message. Its more than I could get anywhere else. Still very concerned with cousin in Guana Bay. Would appreciate any additional info. Lets all keep the Islands in our prayers. Just reading all messages keeps our hopes up that our loved ones are safe and that I am not alone .
Any information on St. Martin, specifically the Pelican Resort where my aunt and uncle are "vacationing". We have very worried family members and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just had this chat w/ somebody in contact w/ Pelican Resort/Simpson Bay:
CAllen3028: Are you located on St Martin? My nephew and his girl are (were) at Pelican Resort... we're concerned - tks.
Lensintmaarteen: I have friends that live there, spoke to them last night. A lot of flooding and heavy rains. The airport road is under water, the sunset beach bar is gone, the peir at pelican is gone but I believe the people in the resorts are fine. Some flooding at the lower levels but everyone was removed from those areas. Hope this is of some help
CAllen3028: You're terrific! thanks for the update - CA.

Anyone know where I can find updates about the Coast Guard search for two men who were in a lifeboat after their sailboat was sinking. They were in the area where Lenny is. I think the search was conducted out of Puerto Rico.
Does anyone know if the Dune Preserve on Rendezvous Bay, Anguilla is OK?
Bankie & Fabiana - our prayers are with you.
Any word about Simpson Bay, especially the Horny Toad? Have friends staying there. Would love to hear about the status of everything there.
Wow! Power was just restored, winds are breezy with a few gusts.
Tortola is rapidly shaping up to handle the tourists as soon as possible.
Many folks are hoping the stores will be open tomorrow so they can buy
new underwear. (Giggle!)
I was at the marina and resort earlier, most folks were grateful and glad
to be alive. A few whiners were in force wanting to know who was going to
refund their vacation money in view of the hurricane. Honestly, some people
just can't accept reality and mother nature.
If we had packaged it right, "experience the adventure of a lifetime as
you enjoy a hurricane first hand....." Plenty of folks would have probably
willingly signed up!
There really isn't anything sensational to report, no deaths around here
that I know of, yet I see AP reports calling it deadly Lenny. I think a few
people will be "hurt" from their hurricane hangovers, but other than that,
not much damage to report.
The surf is up, bring your board and come on down!

Well, this is simply amazing! The 5am position arrived in my mail box at
4:40am. I am losing my faith in the meteorologists, they are not only
abreast of the news, but they are now ahead of it!
THE 5 A.M. ATLANTIC TIME POSITION ... 18.1 NORTH ... 62.8 WEST.
MOVEMENT ... NEARLY STATIONARY. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ... 100 MPH. MINIMUM
CENTRAL PRESSURE ... 982 MILLIBARS.
I pray for the martians on St Martin!

We have family at the Royal Islander on Maho Beach in Dutch St. Martin. Does anyone know how this locale has weathered the storm? Any news about when flights out of Juliana Airport will be restored?
