Please post any further news of the Island. We are also wondering about properties at Gouverneur Bay and Point Milou.... The availability of supplies sounds grim. Any word when St. Barth's or Queen Juliana Airports will open? Glad you heard your daughter is safe.

We are supposed to go to Malliouhana in Anguilla on Wednesday 11/24. Can't get through to hotel, don't know if we should start making other plans.

my friend, who works on st. john's, called today and all is well there. some electricity is still out and there is debris but otherwise ok.

recvd word today from my husband who sat out Lenny at West End of BVI on 60' sailboat, having barely gotten in from Bermuda before the storm force winds hit. All seems okay in Tortola, though messy from so much rain w/a road washout but nothing too serious, public phones at West End were working. He headed out today for St. Croix, seas still heavy, but due to 4pm curfew still in effect STCroix, he decided to overnight in Red Hook, STT to reprovision, etc.- stores open, etc. Finds things seem pretty good STT & sky's cloudy but clearing. Heading tomorrow for St.Croix, which he hears is in surprisingly good shape despite pounding by Lenny. Looks like the US & BVI's were prepared, w/ emergency plans well in place & reaped the benefits of stronger buildings due to improved codes since Hugo. That's all from the "skipper's wife" . . . anyone w/any news to report from yachts which were enroute from Newport via Bermuda, please post.

Can anyone tell me how many people died during Hurricane Floyd? If possible how many in America separated from how many in the Bahamas etc. Also, how much damage it caused/ how much it cost.

ST. MARTAAN - I am looking for news on my sister FEDERICA BASSI and friend MAURO BENEDETTI from Rome, Italy. They should be staying at the Maho Beach Casino Hotel. I last heard from them last tuesday (5 days ago) and am very worried. They were scheduled to be back in Rome by Friday, Nov. 19 yet they are not listed in any Air France passenger list....when will phones be re-connected?? airports?? do they have water/food supplies???? ......anyone with any kind of news from St. Martaan PLEASE CONTACT ME AT either of these two e-mails: fedeb@tiscali.it or francesca.bassi@valentino.it
