The best thing that the Serbian government can do is release the three U.S. Soldiers. This would demonstrate to the world that the Serbs are not the aggressors and only want peace. Two wrongs do not equal a right. I'm sure that the Yugoslavian president will release the three. Any other choice would be missing the chance to gain more support from the world. I totally disagree with the Nato bombing. I lived in Bajina Basta, Serbia for a year. The Serbians are not demons as the media is trying to portray them.

Milosevic might release him if Clinton was not acting so arrogant the last day. He personally

Yeah, Italy got back what was theres from the 1400's.
This is why there will never be peace in your region. Did you know that during ww2, the Yugoslavian people divided and killed 1 million of their own people. That to me is incredible! Other countries coming in to take over your land and your killing each other. The history you point out is good but you leave out facts that don't suit your thinking.
I realise now there is no hope for the Balkans. It is the saddest thing I've ever seen. Instead of worrying about history so much, maybe everyone there should concentrate on the FUTURE and how to get along. The past is gone and can never be changed but the future always can.

You all seem to be intelligent people. Please give me an answer to this question that I have posted several times with no reply forthcoming.

If there is no ethnic cleansing going on in Yugoslavia, what does the USA have to gain from bombing a third world country that has nothing the americans need or want? The USA is expending millions of dollars and risking their sons lives for what, if there is no genocide occuring?

I am sorry you are having hardships, but they are nothing in comparison to what the Kosovar refugees are reporting to the relief agencies that the Serbian military, police, and paramilitary units are perpetrating upon them.

Please answer me.

KOSOVO DECLARATION OF INDEPENDANCE

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience has shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--Such has been the patient sufferance of Kosovo; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present President of Yugoslavia is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over Kosovo. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.


He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; Kosovo remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of Kosovo; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of Kosovo:

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Kosovo to be tried for pretended offences

For abolishing the free System of Yugoslavian Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into Kosovo:

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our resources, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Serbians, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A President whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our neighbors. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the Kosovo Liberation Army, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of Kosovo, solemnly publish and declare, That Kosovo is, and of Right ought to be a Free and Independent Nation; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to Yugoslavia, and that all political connection between them and the Nation of Yugoslavia, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as a Free and Independent Nation, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent Nations may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

When you filter out all the humanitarian bulldust that NATO is throwing into our eyes what remains is:
1. The principal demand of NATO/US is to station its troops permanently in Kosovo.
2. This demand is exactly why the Yugoslav forces are fighting the KLA now and will be fighting the US ground invasion as well.

Other facts are that the US is using casset bombs against the civilian population in Serbia (a war crime). It is also planning on using deplated uranium munitions in Kosovo. If US really cared about Kosovars, it would not be using radioactive munitions which are going to discourage Kosovars from returning home. Would you go back to a bombarded and radioactive wasteland?

It is utterly ridiculous that 7000 or more years since the formation of the first civilisations, humans beings have only managed to get to the extent of evolution defined by more efficient ways to kill. NATO and their cohorts are teaching the third world how to solve humanitarian crises with their cynical and cold elimination of the other half.

Granted, Milosevic may not be exactly innocent of having blood on his hands, but where was NATO and the bleeding hearts when the large tracts of area of the united country of Yugoslavia was handed out like souvenirs to characters like Tjudmann etc. Was NATO weeping when 500000 Serbs were in the same state as the Kosovars? The pictures of women, children and the aged were exactly the same..... but then the whole world had this wonderful attack of instant blindness and collective amnesia. Krajina and Bosnia will have still have some warm Serb blood soaking the ground yet....

Milosevic is a product of what the so-called world powers have set by example, but I think he should be dealt with by his own people and that process was in the making, with mass protests in Beograd. If NATO can start bombing innocent people and civilians in the humantarian cause, maybe I have the license to slit my neighbour's throat for being a drunken and foul mouthed lout, and for threatening the children on my street. And if his wife interferes and I do her too, I could safely call it collateral damage.

History of the bravery of the people of Yugoslavia against the Wehrmacht and the silence of the common village people, particularly in Serbia, against the Ustashe (Croatia & Bosnia) operations at loss of their own lives to save allied airmen and troopers in WWII can be got from any archive in the US or UK.

Anyway, I, personally feel for every suffering Serb, Kosovar, and whoever else are the pawns of ego-tripping warmongers. NATO's smart bombs have not found them yet.... I guess they do not work. So I suppose, people will still be bombed into dumbness by dumb leaders for a while yet.

Could anyone tell me .....what has changed in 7000 years?

All this is beyond sickening......

STOP THE WAR!!!

KLA is a rag-tag terrorist group of former Albanian drug dealers and criminals from the Western countries (e.g. Hasim Taxi). It has been armed and trained by the US and Germany's secret services, paid by the drug money of the Albanian narco-mafia. The scheme is similar to the way the Contra Army in Nicaraqua was established.

Do you expect the KLA to say - yes we are criminals and terrorists and we are fighting to create Greater Albania. They are gonna wrap it into all this mambo-jumbo about ideals and fight against terror.

In the end, the KLA are just another tool in the hands of the West in its quest to contol the Balkans. But, this time the West will have to send its own troops in, because KLA cannot win even combined with the Albanian Army and supported by the US from the air.

This boycott will last as long as the air-strikes in Yugoslavia are
going on.

The position of the World Antiwar Alliance is that solutions to ethnic
problems cannot be found through bombs. The US led NATO has only
inflamed the ethnic conflict and initiated a large scale exodus of the
Albanian population from Kosovo by showing off its military might in the
Balkans. The US/NATO poured oil on the fire in order to extinguish it.
Bombs have never ever brought a lasting peace, only hate, death and
destruction. Only diplomatic negotiations can achieve peace.

The Italian government is deeply involved in the air-strikes on
Yugoslavia. It provides air-bases for the bombing actions, most
prominently the Aviano Airbase. Although a large majority of Italians
does not support this military action, Italian industrialists and media
magnates do. The only way to communicate with those individuals is to
hit their wallets. We invite our Italian anti-war friends to join this
boycott too and target those companies which support and profit from the
NATO military action.

The anti-war oriented people of the world cannot afford any more to sit
passively - we have to take action. We have to make ourselves heard.
Think of the thousands of innocent civilians on both Albanian and
Yugoslav side whose lives are destroyed because of this war. The guilty
parties in this conflict are the US/NATO military and the Yugoslav Army.
Diminish their capability to bomb through economic means and give peace
a chance.

Remember:
ITALIAN IS MILITARIAN, do not buy Italian as long as the bombing is on.

One of the funniest US claims is the expansionism of Milosevic and Serbs. And he is "expanding" into a smaller and smaller Yugoslavia. The US firstly nocked out Slovenia and Croatia, then Bosnia. Now Kosovo is being liberated.

Only the US rethoric about genocide, ethnic cleansing and expansionism stays the same.

What reason could the US have for intervention in Kosovo?
The Kosovo region has EXTENSIVE lead, zinc, gold and silver deposits. It's coal resources are able to last 1,300 years at the current
enormous extraction rate and Kosovo has an even more impressive deposit of lignite. Lignite is a brownish mineral - not yet coal and
burns much better than peat. It is used extensively by powerplants as fuel. It is Europes equivient of South Africa in respect to mineral
wealth. The Serbians are up there with the Chechens as being bad assed mo-fo's. Hitler managed to keep one major road and one
highway open with 17 divisions- several Waffen SS divisions were among them. Clinton wants war and he may just get one this is Russia's buddy he is screwing with and boris is pissed.
