Goodnite all and thanks for the education I am getting here.
Jan > Of course I follow Serbian media, I am not so stupid or brainwashed to beleive CNN and their friends. If you don't beleive there was 100 damaged aircrafts and additional 56 crashed ones it is your problem. And you can ask Russians - this is fact stated by their military officials. They had very precise information of NATO losses during the aggression. Not to mention that I watched my eyes planes suddenly changing their sound after a blast, trying to cach safety, crashing around Petrovec tarmac in Macedonia. Not to mention pictures of your pilots hanging on the trees. Even "stealth" fighters and bombers were hitten - One finished in a mud, second one in Pleso airport in Croatia and another one in Bosnia. Jan, do you need more information on this issue? I have a lot if you need, just tell.

(Authorities have not officially released the man's name or nationality, but the Seattle Times identified him as Ahmed Ressam, and said authorities believed he is of Algerian or Iranian descent. )
As we see, no official release for the man's name, but the Seattle Times identified him as Ahmed Ressam. FOR SURE, ANY TERRORIST NAME MUST CONTAIN EITHER AHMED OR MOHAMED.
Attention please ......
I just want to ask all the posters here one question. Who will win that war, Russia or Chechneya ? Please just give me a short answer, Russia or Chechneya. The question seems stupid, but let us say, it is a poll.
Yes Jan > another one. We at least have a lot of experience with Americans and their doctrine, that we can use it now. Americans are trying to provoke civil war in Serbia nearly 9 years now - with no success. Such resistance I don't think they expected. Reagrdless their money, organisation, skills, everithing, they cuold not break one small nation in Europe. We are suffering their sanctions, abuse, bombing, terrorism, threatening, media war, pshychological war, pressure of all kind. Uranium bombs, cluster bombs, termovisual bombs, destroyed hospitals, elderly homes, schools, bridges, buses, trains, refugee camps, civilian colons, electrical plants, media. And after all this, there is one Jan to say that we should beleive NATO propaganda. Yes, Jan, I beleive RTS, Serbian media house that was completely destroyed during murdering attacks of your country. I beleive the media that is forbiden to broadcast by satelite so as not to show civilian casualties and our resistance. Yes, it is very dangerous to speak about NATO failure. If Nato is so unsuccessful, what to do then? Thankfully to your friend Tchernomirdin, you came on Kosovo, we will see what will happen in the future now.
I'm sorry, you will not erase the history.
IN THE NAME OF GOD, THE MOST BENEFICENT, THE MOST MERCIFUL
Dear Kim Arx,
I’m sorry for my late response because I was busy getting ready for my trip back home. But I tried to put my effort in order to make it understandable. I respect your way. I will try replying to you based on my understanding to what you wrote. I know that in order to agree, even agreeing on disagreeing, we must first agree on something. I think that you agree with me on logic, because it’s the language of the mind. I will answer your questions that you previously asked.
You said on Wednesday, December 15, 1999 - 11:46 pm, ” I am an atheist, and I also think that any discussion of deities simply makes economic/political issues more difficult to solve, when one or both sides believe they are the chosen ones and therefore superior to others.” I understand what you mean. You mean –correct me if I’m wrong- that if both sides came to a discussion with the idea that they are the chosen ones in mind; no one will accept the others’ idea. Every one will think they are right, and will not listen and understand to the others’ side of the issue. Well maybe they are both right and they don’t even know it. The solution is simple but you have to put your effort to apply it. I will give a well-known solution and tell me if you agree. Both side have to understand the other first. Then to make sure that the other side understands them as well. The secret is, “To understand, then to be understood” and the keyword is “then”. And that is also the answer to your other question, “Why is it so important what non-Muslims think of Islam?” Humanitarianly speaking, if you have something you believe is that good, would it be not generous of you not to share it with others.
Another question you asked is, “You are free to believe what you want.” I agree with you that everyone is free to believe what he/she wants. You said, “And if you are indeed found to be right in your belief-you will get your reward for your faith.” I understand from you that there is a reward for every faith, but you didn’t say what is it and whether it’s is good or bad for every single religion. Logically, the reward has to be given by someone that has the power to reward. And if there are rewarded people, then there are a non-rewarded people. And logically, there has to be a reward that is clearly known in order to work for getting it. And there should be qualifications that everyone should meet in order to be qualified for the reward.
You said, “In the meantime who knows which religion is the right one. Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Atheism?” well that’s why you have to search for the right one buy your self, because you are the one who will be or will not be rewarded. In order to do so, you have to search for the one who gives the rewards, and ask him how to get it. I’m saying this based on my assumption that you believe there is a reward, whatever it is, for whichever faith.
You said; “Maybe I don't have the wrong idea about belief after all, just a different belief?” Well, when two persons say the opposite thing in a certain matter are they just different or are they different and against each other, one is right and one is wrong? It’s the same with different beliefs suggest two different things that are contradicting to each other, then one should be wrong and the other should be right. And it’s clear about my belief and your belief that one of them is wrong and the other is right, because they are completely the opposite. Mine say there is one God and yours say there is no God.
Now, would you be interested in knowing about my belief, and see what I’ve got to offer. Please ask me about my belief and I would be honored to write you about it. This message is for anyone who’s concerned as well. And I also would like to know what you have to say about your belief. And I’m interested in know things about your believe that are not clear for a lot of people.
I have a saying I believe is true and you may disagree with me as an atheist, the saying is: “I want, you want and God does what he wants” and this is the main idea of believing in fate.
As someone said: “My opinion is right, possibly wrong. And your opinion is wrong, possibly right”.
Thank for allowing me to take your time.
Yours,
Concerned
Omar > Do you really think Russia can lose this war? It is impossible. It is enough to launch one Topol-M missile on Grozni and Grozni will be free.
What I think Russian Army is doing right now is empting outdated ammunition stocks. They have a lot of bombs with expired dates that are only consuming space and require resources for their maintanatce. Also, they are exploring new military equipment. This is a good chance to test new weaponry, tactics, and after all, to gain a new experience. This war will be very important in new Russian history, maybe you don't understand the implications right now, but we will see. Chechens also have strongholds - American millitants and Islamic fanatics, but The first ones are in fact very weak (they prove it in their fiasco in Serbia war), and the second ones are not strong enough to opose firm Russian military attitude.
Serb,
the State Dept. and Miss Piggy in particular was just ma-a-a-ad, when they learned, that Amos-1 was relaying Serbian TV. She came crushin', was soothed, relaying stopped... temporarily. Now she's ma-a-a-ad again. Guess, why?:o))
Dear Concerned,
Many thanks for your detailed reply,I found it alot easier to listen to than the quotes from the Koran, that had previously been posted on this board by others.
You reply at least showing a willingness to accept that I have my own thoughts. Thank you
I would be willing to hear about your belief - what interests me most is the things we might find in common. And it sounds as though we might just find some.
One thing : The idea of there being a reward for faith- doesn't every religion tell of the great benefits of doing what is right-according to that religion.
In my case, I believe that by trying to be the best person I can be and doing what I believe is right, I will be rewarded by feeling at peace with myself. The reward comes from within, not from a seperate entity.
I know in Christianity, they believe that God is in each person in the form of a soul. What do you as a muslim believe?
Kim
CNN showed an interview with Robert Young Pe..something, a reporter who just came back from Grozny. He showed clips of the town, people walking around, terrorists with guns, etc. Robert said that once he was taken to "the front" and he saw how 8 Chechens held of 15 tanks and "god knows how many Russians" (his own words). I wounder why he didn't take picture of that? Or of Minutka Square defeat. He had plenty of time after the battle..
"Earlier, Moscow had claimed a turning point in the Chechen war when its paratroopers seized control of the Chechen-Georgia border, a key supply route to the rebels."
AP
Igor -
I thought it's "VREMYA".
R
The tanks (maximum 15) were reportedly destroyed by 2000 Chechens. The number 8 should have a symbolic meaning...
Why Russian can't overcome a handfull of illarmed bandit? Why do they need 100 000+ men to face them?
1/ in a town like Grozny there are hundrdeds of buildings and tens of thousends rooms and corridors. In each room could be hidden a sniper. Not easy to find out where they are.
2/As Igor or Dimitri put in (..!) if they wern't any civilian in town, the chechens would know it's barbecue time for them and would be all roasted in a matter of hours.
3/Geometry: draw one circle A. Draw another circle B around the circle A. The perimeter of the circle B will be longer than the one of the circle B. Then you will want to mobilize more troops to besiege the rebels.
4/Any army would do the same.
5/..
To Serb
Milo is like Chechen rebels chiefs: Stubborn!
He had no chance to win. So why didn't he understand it earlier? Because he was a victim of his own propaganda. Like islamists are.
FOR CHECHEN MUSLIMS LIFE IS FOR MEANINGFUL PURPOSES. DEATH OPENS A DOOR TO AN ETERNAL LIFE WHERE RIGHT AND WRONG WILL BE SORTED OUT AND JUDGED. HEAVEN IS TRUE AND HELL IS TRUE. THEY ARE AFRAID OF NOTHING BUT ALLAH.
FOR RUSSIAN SOLDIERS LIFE IS A PHILOSOPHY OF MEANINGLESSNESS, I.E. MATERIALISTIC, AND DEATH ENDS UP INTO ULTIMATE SILENCE. THEY ARE AFRAID OF EVERYTHING MATERIAL.
WHEN CHECHIAN FIGHTERS SEE THE PARADISE THE RUSSIAN SOLDIERS SEE THEIR WORRIED FAMILIES IN THE FIGHT.
CHECHIAN CAN SURVIVE BETTER.YOU WIL SEE FURTHER DISINTEGRATION OF RUSSIA.
To All:
especialy Basayev:
Upsurge of violence followed observance of RAMADAN in Algeria in the past three years. Radical
Muslim guerrillas see the month as an AUSPICIOUS PERIOD TO STEP UP
what they call as their ``HOLLY WAR'' to set up a purist state.
Among those killed in the past week were 11 nomads slaughtered
Monday in the southern province of Bechar and 15 passengers
massacred at a bogus roadblock two days earlier.
... hundreds of civilians have been killed in rebel
attacks in the past three years.
Since early 1992, when the authorities canceled a general election
in which Muslim militants had taken a commanding lead, some 100,000
people have been killed.
More than 500 people have been killed since July 13 when a law came
into force to offer total or partial amnesty to rebels who surrender
to the authorities.
Basayev, do you belong to these ones too who are murdering algerians?
