Yeltsin resigns, Putin got the power. What it means? Probably, 100% freedom for Russian forces in Chechnya. Napalm bombs, no problem. Vacuum, go ahead. Innocent civilians, nope collateral damage. Amnestry to terrorists, how about a bullet instead.
bosna, muslim:
If you look at my previous posting you would see that in no way did i mention that the action of federal solders in this village was correct. All I said was that I can understand why would they do that, it does not mean that I would support it. I said that they should be punnished according to law.
Muslim:
That was the excuse they gave after the event.
Tell me those drunken, looting, excuses for
troops were going to be thinking rationally before acting.
Do you expect them to give excuse before??? Like we are going to kill you because....??? This does not make sence. I do not know if those guys were drunk, if they were (as media reports) than it is no excuse. I know that majority of people drink to hide from reality and war is a very bad reallity.
bones:
By the way, I understand war and the whole human shield thing but two things stick out about that whole situation. 1) Why did Russian troops threaten to shoot a person they later learned to be an Official? Is this the way soldiers should act? I hope not. 2) Please explain why these same soldiers looted the village or parts there of after said ambush. I would also love to know why would ANYBODY steal somebody else's photo albumn, as was reported. This seems extremely petty.
As you can see in my previous message to muslim, i said that I do not think that military had enough training. I hope it answer your first question. Regarding second one: I went in russia last year and that I saw was not very nice. A lot ordinary people are in need. Those russian solders are ordinary people. Federal military forces do not have enough money to pay good wages to conscripts or officers. I have a friend who is an officer, they do not get wages for many months. He is constantly hungry. Of cause these people would take some booty espessially if they consider other side as enemy. Does this behaivore can be excussed by condition of solders living (or they families for that matter), of cause not!! But in current situation this is what you will have. So you can understand why they would do it, but I would agree with you by saing this is not a proper way. I just hope it is not major behaviour(probably is). But I do not believe it is official one.
thanks
ukrainian:
are you actually from ukrain? if yes, what part?
Thanks
in russian:
"a ti iz ukraini? esle da, to otkuda?
spasibo"
Conscripts don't get paid. At least I thought they don't.
just a quick note:
1.Funny part of yeltsin's resignation was the fact the market went up 🙂
2. Do you guys think he was forced out? Or it is just a way top insure that Putin will win next election. Somehow I doubt he left because of what he siad in his statement
thanks
r:
They are, very little, I believe in 1990 they wage was 7 rubels 🙂
I guess, I should off stated it, because I do not know if they are now, i would assume yes
drake,
if you asked me, I'd say ukrainian is Zapadenetz'- you know - that's what they call nationalists who live in Western Ukraine and hate "moskali"..by the way, technically speaking I am from "ukraine"(but I am NOT an ukrainian). Why parenthesis, you ask? Because I do NOT consider my hometown - Odessa-mama, (i kak govorits'a v odnoi pesne - Moldavanka Rodina moia. Na polnom serioze :)) an ukranian city. It was a porto-franko and ukrainians got very lucky by having such a profitable city. But that's besides the point.
dimitri:
what can you say, Xrushev, was a generous guy 🙂
I doubt Yeltsin was forced out. I believe he just wanted security for his "family". Plus since he liked Putin so much, he wanted to make sure Putin is a president, even if it's only for 3 months.
I'm glad Russian economy has risen, even if for just a tiny bit.
drake,
tell me about it 😉
P.S. May I please inquire about your interest in Ukrainian's place of origin?
Kissie, drake, Fred, Igor, Veritas, L'menexe, ®, Dmitri,
Happy New Year friends! I wish to all of you and your families love, prosperity, happiness in the new Millenium. May God bless us all.
How generous was he? Does anyone have a complete list of Russian territories he gave away?
