You mean Ritchie Blackmore was inspired by Nina when he burned a hotel over there. Or it's just Nina Ricci's perfume.

Mirinov's story is nice, but definately not true. For some reason he can't even distinguish "Zhmel'" and "Mukha". Kind of sad for a person who was in the army for 10 or so years. And those are just minor mistakes and inconsistencies throughout his story, first chapter actually. His style of writting is bad (in my opinion), he way too often talks directly to the reader (a no-no in my book) and what's worse, he assumes too much (a very big no-no!). Also, Mironov portrays himself as a philosopher in a "bad war", who loves(!!) to kill, but dislikes to look at the dead bodies. Hmm. He respects his friends, but has no respect for others. Beating the shitout of one soldier just because he was lucky and got an office job. There are other mistakes, like when he is mentioning NATO bombing of Yugoslavia even though it happened well after the first Chechen war.

It's a nice fiction (that compacts two-three months of war in two-three days) something Babitsky would write, for Chechen "mujahideens" of course.

What is striking about the new war Russia's generals have been waging in Chechnya since September 1999 is its inhumanity.

More than a third of the local population - around 200,000 people - have been forced to flee the fighting and seek a precarious refuge in neighbouring Ingushetia. According to international humanitarian aid organisations (which the authorities are keeping at a distance from the front), hundreds of civilians have been killed in indiscriminate shelling by the Russian army. It is also reported that in some villages the army has been involved in looting, rape and war crimes.

It is time for the Western world to put up or shut up. Russia, the criminal nation is gettig away with genocide against a helpless population. Yet, the West can do nothing more but complain about this and about that. It is no secret that they are in agreement with criminal Russia and it is time they come out and show their true colours. Islam will never be defeated by the tyrant forces. Muslim fighters will have their say on the battle field and soon......

It would be interesting to know how many Chechens get killed by one drunk Russian soldier.

I've read that five liquer shots send five Chechens to their paradize. I've just received my welfare check and will send 10 cases of Absolute vodka to Russian guys and gals. I hope it will finish this conflict sooner.

Let's help our brave soldiers to get through tough time. Some one has to do a dirty work! If not them who will rape those Chechens. I don't think Russian troops enjoy it much. They just protect and serve to their country.

“ For some reason he can't even distinguish "Zhmel'" and "Mukha".”

Do you remember where this part is? What chapter?

“ His style of writting is bad (in my opinion), he way too often talks directly to the reader (a no-no in my book) and what's worse, he assumes too much (a very big no-no!). Also, Mironov portrays himself as a philosopher in a "bad war", who loves(!!) to kill, but dislikes to look at the dead bodies.”

Well, on the forum he himself admitted that he is bad writer and what you read was actually much better than original version. He shows how he would of done things, in way he is saying that he was right but he shows that Generals plans to storm minytka were brutal. As well he shows that at war you ether kill or be killed, doesn’t necessary means that he loves to kill. But then again you do develop hate war your enemy.

“ Beating the shitout of one soldier just because he was lucky and got an office job.”

No because he had no respect for higher ranked soldiers. Not that I’m saying he is right, but that sh!t happens everyday in the army.

“ There are other mistakes, like when he is mentioning NATO bombing of Yugoslavia even though it happened well after the first Chechen war.”

The story come out not so long ago, and yes he does jump from the past Chechen war to the present time.

“ It's a nice fiction (that compacts two-three months of war in two-three days)”

I don’t think so, story starts maybe a week before the they take on “minytka”. So based on all of these arguments you think this is fiction? I hope you do have more arguments than that.

Putin Assassination Plot Uncovered

MOSCOW, Feb 23, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) Police have uncovered a plot to assassinate Acting Russian President Vladimir Putin, RTR state television reported Wednesday, citing undisclosed security service sources.

The report said Putin's assassination had been planned to take place in Saint Petersburg, Russia's second city, where he is due to attend the burial of former mayor Anatoly Sobchak on Thursday.

The Kremlin said an official comment on the RTR report would be issued shortly, adding that Putin's trip was still on.

The Federal Security Service refused to issue any comment on the report when contacted by telephone.

Stalin's Grandson Barred From Presidential Race In Georgia

TBILISI, Feb 23, 2000 -- (Reuters) Georgian authorities have barred the grandson of former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, Yevgeny Dzhugashvili, from standing in April's presidential elections, the electoral commission chief said Tuesday.

"His candidacy was rejected because it does not conform to Georgian law which says that a presidential candidate must have spent the last two years on Georgian territory," Djumber Lominadze told AFP.

But Dzjugashvili, a 62 year-old professor of history and retired engineer, insisted that he and his family had been resident in Georgia for two decades and he would appeal to the country's supreme court.

"This incident shows that my participation in the presidential race frightens my competitors. I do not have the right to give in, my people need people like me," he said.

There is some confusion over Dzhugashvili's citizenship as he still holds a passport from the former Soviet Union. He stood unsuccessfully for Georgia's parliamentary elections in November, before standing, again unsuccessfully, for Russia's parliamentary elections in December.

He has led the Stalinist Bloc for the USSR political party for two years and is the only one of Stalin's nine grandchildren to openly support his grandfather's policies.

He has urged Georgia to adopt the Chinese communist model.

I SUPPORT HIM AS WELL. AS WELL AS AN ASSASSINATION OF PUTIN. I WONT STAND FOR HIM TO BE PRESIDENT. IF SOMEONE CAN KILL HIM THEN GOOD. IF NOT, ILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT.
