Chechens fighters are real chickens. We will defend the city until last of us will die! They told everybody. Indeed, they left the city. That's the real proof that they are not brave at all. Russians will chase them and destroy the remaining of these terrorist gangs.

P.S. The only thing I worried about that these fighters are civilians during the day, but at night they shoot at Russian backs. This enemy is invisible and very tricky.

Anybody please reply for my comments. I'll talk to you later.

Rushaylo refuses to comment on Azeris among Chechen mojahedin 02/03/2000

Snark 3 Feb 2000

Yerevan, 3rd February: Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Rushaylo, who is paying a two-day working visit to Yerevan, abstained from commenting on the reports made public about
documents that had been confiscated from Chechen fighters which showed that they were citizens of Azerbaijan.

"A series of meetings and consultations is to be held. I do not want to anticipate events, to give any appraisal. We have to listen to our Azerbaijani colleagues prior to saying something," Rushaylo said.

He added that an agreement had been signed between the Russian and Azerbaijani Interior Ministries and that bilateral interaction was
being carried out under this agreement. Here there are official and unofficial sides, and operational information, Rushaylo said. According to the minister, the Russian delegation, which leaves Yerevan for Baku today, will outline and define priority directions of the joint work with their Azerbaijani colleagues.

"One should not hurry to draw conclusions and say that Azerbaijani citizens' involvement in the illegal bandit gangs is the official stance of Baku. We do not share this opinion and therefore will
hold a number of meetings with the leadership both of the Interior Ministry and of Azerbaijan." Rushaylo said.

Ibn 'whatever,

(corrected postiong)

Stay assured - I am not ashamed of my nationality.
Surely, there are no wars going on agains "bandits" and "terroris" - there are some, but the state deals with them without canons.

Concerning creating another homepage for your viewing pleasures... There will be too much honor for russian bastards who do not feel ashamed of posting pictures of corpses (better wash you face first, and clean your heart); russians, who are the last ones I am going to do something (if anything).

Kurds Kidnappings Go Unnoticed 02/04/2000
By HARMONIE TOROS

The Associated Press
02/04/2000

ISTANBUL, Turkey (AP) - Few people paid much attention to the disappearance of scores of religious Kurds until police found more than 50 bodies in grisly dungeons used by a militant
Islamic group.

Now parliament, newspapers and people on the streets are captivated by the story of how 100 or more people could disappear without being noticed and why so few families were willing to
contact the police.

Some families apparently refused to report the disappearances of their loved ones because they feared the state, which is fighting a brutal war against Kurdish nationalists and has cracked down against fundamentalism.

In a few cases, relatives contacted police, but their files simply piled up along with those of thousands of others of people who went missing in the country, including runaways.

``Over the past 10 years, there have been so many shady killings and kidnappings,'' said political analyst and newspaper columnist Fehmi Koru. ``This is ordinary in Turkey.''

Human rights groups say that thousands of people, mostly Kurds and leftists, have disappeared during the past two decades.

The government admitted two years ago that the state had hired death squads to kill people seen as threats to national security - including journalists, activists and Kurdish politicians.

More than 5,000 mysterious killings in the overwhelmingly Kurdish southeast have been blamed on the militant Islamic group Hezbollah, including that of a lawmaker, Mehmet Sincar,
who was apparently slain by the group in 1993 while investigating the killings.

Many of the victims are thought to have had links to Hezbollah, which is fighting to create an Islamic state in Turkey's largely Kurdish southeast.

``Most of the killings and kidnappings appear to be some kind of internal business, so the disappearances were not reported,'' said Uluc Gurkan, a lawmaker for the governing Democratic Left Party.

Hezbollah apparently kidnapped its estranged supporters or opponents to force them into supporting the group, said Faik Bulut, an expert on Islamic militant groups.

Some families knew their relatives had links to Hezbollah group and preferred not to report their disappearances to the police.

Several people have been released after spending weeks in captivity. Some said they had been tortured. Almost all the bodies discovered were found naked with the hands and feet bound.

At least two families admitted that they hadn't reported the disappearance because their relatives had been kidnapped in the past and later released, said Serap Yasar, a lawyer for the
pro-Islamic human rights group Mazlum Der. It was the association that first alerted the press to the series of kidnappings.

``They thought they would come back like they did last time,'' Yasar said. Relatives of 52 other people gone missing have reported their disappearances during the past weeks, reports said.

Kurds active in Islamic politics are likely to be scared of contacting police in Turkey, particularly since allegations surfaced that state officials may have supported Hezbollah, which killed hundreds of Marxist Kurdish rebels.

Abdullah Gul, a lawmaker with the pro-Islamic Virtue Party, said the state seems to have dragged its feet in investigating the disappearances, possibly because those who disappeared were pro-Islamic.

``We asked many times in parliament for an explanation for the disappearances. Either we got no answer, or (the government) said they were looking into it,'' said Gul.

Of the 55 bodies recovered, three were women, including an Islamic women's activist Konca Kuris, who favored a greater role for women in Islam.

Only half of the bodies have been formally identified. All but Kuris were Kurds and all were devout Muslims, except possibly two thieves, who apparently made the deadly mistake of breaking into a poultry house owned by Hezbollah.

At least six businessmen were among those found.

Bulut said it appears that the men were either being forced to pay money to Hezbollah or ``there is also the possibility that some businessmen were investing or laundering money on behalf of the organization.''
