Chechen Vice President Killed In Fighting
MOSCOW, Feb 8, 2000 -- (Agence France Presse) A Russian general said on Tuesday that Chechen Vice President Vakha Arsanov was killed as he tried to break out of the besieged capital Grozny, Interfax news agency reported.
Chechen sources did not immediately confirm Arsanov's death.
General Viktor Kazantsev said Arsanov was one among "many other" Chechen field commanders killed following Russia's capture of Grozny on Sunday, Interfax said.
Many Chechen commanders were captured as they tried to leave the city, Kazantsev told the news agency.
A pro-Chechen Internet site, Kavkaz, said Tuesday that Arsanov had met with Chechen warlord Shamil Basayev, who had his right foot amputated after stepping on a landmine. ((c) 2000 Agence France Presse)
http://www.serbia-info.com/news/2000-02/08/17113.html No evidence on existence of mass crimes against the Kosmet Albanians
February 08, 2000
Belgrade, February 7th (Tanjug) - A Yugoslav government session, chaired by Prime Minister Momir Bulatovic, adopted a commentary regarding the Organization on Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) report on the state of human rights in Kosovo-Metohija from October 1998 - October 1999. This 900-page report is based on trumped-up charges concerning the alleged existence of mass graves and executions of the Kosmet Albanians. However, all investigations and findings by independent pathologists have proven that there were no mass crimes and no executions of Kosmet Albanians.
Regardless of these facts, the OSCE report relies exclusively on statements taken from refugees in camps in Albania and Macedonia. This only proves that this is not a document, but a rough political pamphlet, which is used as an attempt to justify the NATO aggression against FR Yugoslavia.
To all Russians on this board,
Regarding CB1. It would never strike an idiot that people on this board are not using their real names.

Sounds good to me.
RUSSIANS USED SPECIAL COMPUTER EFFECTS TO CREATE A VIDEO OF SHAMIL BASAEV'S MEDICAL OPERATION. I MEAN, HOW ELSE CAN YOU EXPLAIN THAT CHECHENS KEEP ON INSISTING THAT BASAEV LOST ONLY FEW TOES, WHILE ON THE TAPE YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE HE AIN'T GOT NO FOOT BELOW HIS KNEE. DAMN RUSSIONS GOING HI-TECH. NEXT THING WE KNOW ANDREI BABITSKY WAS JUST A LIFE-LIKE ROBOT.
NOTICE THAT WITH CHECHENS YOU HAVE TO SPECIFY EVERYTHING (I.E. "AIN'T GOT NO FOOT BELOW HIS KNEE). IF YOU WON'T SPECIFY LATER THEY WILL STATE: WELL BASAEV DID HAVE HIS FOOT.. JUST IN HIS BACKPACK!
Messages just keep vanishing from this board.
Where is this message?

The message that you so called vanished, is here.
You know the really funny thing here. Its those Pro-Russian supporters. I mean they are taking this "wholy-greater than God attitude" LMAO at you guys. When all you have really complished is beating back a rag-tag militia, composed of light arms. I would expect that the Russian supporters would be hiding beneath rocks for their ineptness and shortcomings on the battlefield.
Congratulations, you have finally driven back 2,000 lightly armed men. At What cost: 4 - 1. That's four Russian servicemen to one Rebel. Good odds I would say! LOL.
So the question is - Why the gloating?
Maybe the U.S. should cut off some aid to you clowns so you can beg us again for food as your people starve! Who knows maybe WE can subsidize your Vodka - So Russians can wallow in denial as Russia continues their decent to Somalia like Starvation.
As for the always entertaining discussion of Russia Vs. USA - one thing to say:
You should always know what cards your holding…right now the Russians are holding two pair against my Aces high Full…And HE'S BLUFFING. LOL.
All American they have already killed about 11,000 with probably that many more left ,so get your facts right before you start yapping.
SEVERAL hundred rebels were fighting for their lives yesterday in tiny villages southwest of Grozny. Buoyed by the fall of the capital, where soup kitchens have begun feeding emaciated survivors, the Russian military claimed to have cut off hundreds, possibly thousands, of rebels in and around Katyr Yurt and Shaami Yurt. Whether they escape to fight again may determine the war's outcome.
"All possible lines of escape have been reliably blocked," army sources said. If true, a strip of snowy farmland about eight miles by four, and including the two villages with the Shalazha River between them, has been turned into a death trap where Russian helicopter gunships will try to "liquidate" rebels before they reach mountains to the south.
Even there, the army believes any reprieve will be shortlived. The operation will be over "in the very near future", General Viktor Kazantsev promised journalists. In reality, every Russian claim to have secured or sealed a town has proved hopeful at best. Promises of partial withdrawal from Grozny could be reversed swiftly if yesterday's blast in flats in Khabarovsk, eastern Siberia, which killed 12 civilians, is blamed on Chechens.
Russia's state-owned Rosneft oil company announced yesterday that it has been given the right to exploit and export Chechnya's substantial oil and gas reserves. The news, made with little fanfare, spoke volumes about the economic realities that many believe lie behind rhetoric on terrorism.
