I wonder why American leaders give such mixed feelings about this chechen war...

it reminds one of certain aspects of America's past, specifically, the Civil War. I think America should support Russia, especially as with victory, the consolidation of the area should bring stability as well.

Super Aggie

The great satin America is now being beconed by mother Russia. Russia a country who for years tried every evil ploy imaginable to take over the Middle East. Now it runs like a dog with it's tail between it's legs for help and support in Chechan. Super Aggie your idea is Super Faggie.

Actually asshola you are wrong, this is where the picture is from: http://www.excite.com/photo/img/ap/indonesia/violence/20000111/jak101?r=/photo/topic/international/violence

And this is the caption from the picture:
"Muslim activists shout "Jihad! Jihad!" (Holy War!) during a demonstration in front of the Interior Ministry in Jakarta, Indonesia, Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000."

Hey, british,
aren't you a moron who was fooled with such class by Armenian yesterday? Look, I warn you: I have a lot of pictures that you won't be happy to see - I keep them as documents. I don't post them only because they are pretty disturbing. But if you will continue with your sick pictures, I'll do it.
So, be nice..

"What is most interesting is your statement that USA is a winner again. Well I must say that USA has always been and will continue to be #1 for it is made up of Russians, Jews, Muslims, Blacks, Irish, Italians, Poles, Asisans, Arabs of all flavors, etc, etc, etc,. What do they all have in common? A desire to bring forth and blend their cultures habits, beliefs and ideas together while maintaining a strong desire to work towards and contribute to a common cause and to maintain their freedom while enjoying a quality life without bigotry, suppression, and hate. This concept must spread throughout your world so that people can live in peace and harmony."

Truthseeker,
Despite your good sense of humour, I agree with you on this one.

Igor,

I looked at the site you posted (re. antiwar). It doesn't have much good news for the Russian Army. Are you coming to a conclusion that perhaps it was a mistake for Russia to enter war with Chechens?

Turk>>> With about 50% of bandit's gangs being mercenaries from other countries, it can hardly be called war with Chechens.

"But just as they did in the failed 1994-96 war in Chechnya, Russian leaders, backed by state-run media, have played down the ability of the rebels to respond and have portrayed them as a defeated, desperate bunch with nowhere to run.

Military analysts in Moscow said that Russia's forces were ill-equipped to wage the kind of guerrilla war that the badly outnumbered Chechen rebels appear determined to fight.

''Russia's military has not learned from the lessons of Vietnam, Afghanistan, and the first Chechen war. The generals are still fighting World War II and think they can achieve victory by sheer numbers and firepower,'' said Yevgeny Volk, a military analyst with the Heritage Foundation in Moscow."

The lessons of the Vietnam, and Afganistan is that you shouldn't try to invade other contries by force. Days of empire building/maintaining is over.

Chechens have nothing common with Russians, and clearly they don't want to have Russian Army in their country.

Even if Russian Army succeeds in the long run, this won't make the life of average Russian any better. Russians should oppose the war.
