Igor,

Barbeque in Grozny? Maybe next to the Mosdok mortuary in shadow of Russkie coffins if you are lucky.

Grozny will be just a dream which will never materialize except for Meat Grinder, which is "real"

Crawling away from carnage

By MICHAEL GORDON in Grozny

After Dmitry Baidanov's legs were shattered by mortar fire he crawled for three days through the streets of Grozny until he reached the Russian lines.

Last week, the 19-year-old private was splayed out on his stomach, unconscious in a field hospital on the western outskirts of the Chechen capital.

He may be one of the lucky ones. A row of six corpses lay in the muddy field nearby, wrapped in shiny foil.

"We had more than 10 wounded yesterday, and there will be more wounded today," said Dmitry Turkov, a hospital orderly.

"They are fighting less than four kilometres away."

This is a side of the Chechen war that most Russians are rarely shown: patching up the wounded, and the grisly task of disposing of the dead.

When the Russian military began its campaign against the Islamic rebels, its generals vowed to win a speedy victory and hold down Russian losses. But as Russia begins the new year its troops are mired in urban warfare, and the still popular war is claiming a higher toll.

Russian artillery is hurling round after round towards Grozny. The firepower was supposed to break the will of the rebels before Russian Interior Ministry troops moved block by block to "clean" the city. But the rebels are doggedly fighting back.

bastard russians go home to your filthy pig-pens and get drunk

REALITY OF GROZNY MEAT GRINDER.

IGOR, If you are real Russian, Do something and get your boys out of the quagmire otherwise.....

Last week, the 19-year-old private was splayed out on his stomach, unconscious in a field hospital on the western outskirts of the Chechen capital.

Russian artillery is hurling round after round towards Grozny. The firepower was supposed to break the will of the rebels before Russian Interior Ministry troops moved block by block to "clean" the city. But the rebels are doggedly fighting back.

"Now that the army is mopping up in Grozny, we have another wave of casualties," said Major Oleg Zayev, a military doctor from St Petersburg and a senior member of Special Medical Team Number 600, which runs the tent hospital here.

Major Zayev said the vast majority of his patients were stabilised and then whisked by helicopter to the rear for extended treatment. But just a few minutes after he spoke the militants claimed another victim on a nearby hillside.

Stupid, when is "soon". Why delay? What's happening? Where are the Generals ( Clowns).
May be they are still packing the medals for "heroism" given by that Drunkard Yeltsin. Stupid Yeltsin, mind it these are Russian Generals. If you give them medals that's it. They will never go to the battlefield. War is over for them. Poor Russian conscripts face the death without their Generals now.
