When I say multiply Russian losses by five to obtain a more reliable figure, I got the rule-of-thumb from the figures released by the Russians themselves.

For example, look at the above: Kremlin claims 13 federal soldiers had been killed, yet a Russian officer says 49 been killed.

One thing is certain, Russians are causing a lot of pain and suffering, but Chechen Freedom Fighters are hitting back hard.

It also seems that they are not short of weapons and new recruits. Chechnia is rapidly turning to Russia's Vietnam, with no victory in sight for years to come. Many more Russian women will see their only sons killed or maimed in the coming months.

Putin has not many options, he is a trapped man. He can not continue the war forever, and he knows that Russia can not win the war. However pulling Russian troops out will be acknowledgement of defeat, severely damaging his standing. Thus comes trying to bring a puppet regime, which seems to be acceptable to both parties, at least for a while, so that Russians can withdraw without loosing much face.

Either way the war is no longer bringing glory to Russians, and it costing them more than any potential gain from future petrol dollars.

Looking at the recent clash with Saudi Arabia is also demonstrating further potential troubles with Islamic nations, so far kept a blind eye to the carnage for trying not to offend Russia. The longer the war continues the more strained the relationship will become, to the detriment of Russia.

I wonder if USA's hand is getting stronger in the poker game played over the ashes of Chechnia.

The only difference is no one in Islamic faith can say someone will end up in Hell Fire because of his/her actions, because Allah knows best. It is not up to people to speculate on such a matter. Unlike Catholics, who believes that their Priests can forgive the sins of people in the name of the creator, no one can do that in Islam, nor anyone can curse somebody to the Hell Fire.

Had a lovely picinic in the country side yesterday. Ended up filling the dump truck with wild flowers and sold them at the local florist. Also, dug up 15 buckets of worms and sold them to some local fishermen. A very relaxing, productive and profitable day for sure.

As I said before, if it makes him happy, he can keep dreaming. No harm in that. However, everyone can see that he is not happy.

In physchologic treatment, the first thing they try to achive with the patient, is getting them let to go all the bitterness, and forgive unconditionally, whatever or whoever is bothering them.
