As a result of a special operation the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) workers took prisoner one of the closest comrades-in-arms of Aslan Maskhadov, Ruslan Alikhadzhayev. RIA Novosti received this information from informed sources.


According to this information, Alikhadzhayev is being kept in the FSB administration for the Chechen Republic. He, as RIA Novosti interlocutors noted, "is well informed and give evidence on Maskhadov's plans for the near future.


RIA Novosti has learned in the mobile detachment of the Interior Ministry of Russia in the North Caucasus that several more bandits, who tried to become lost among peaceful citizens, have been also detained. The staffers of the regional department for combating organised crime detained in the Shali district Musa Musayev, a citizen of the Novye Atagi populated locality. They told RIA Novosti that Musayev actively participated in one of the illegal armed formations for the whole of the year 1999. In the course of bandit attacks he was wounded.
