Just wondering....

But were you one of the Bagel Soldiers that barely had time to wipe their wet asses as they fled S. Lebanon?

looks like I wasn't too wrong afterall..not that I'm bragging of course *grin*

UK commits warships to Sierra Leone
Refugees and victims of the civil war in Sierra Leone meet the British Foreign Secretary, Robin Cook
Two British warships are to remain behind in Sierra Leone after the bulk of the troops leave next week.
During a visit to the west African country, Foreign Secretary Robin Cook said the frigate, HMS Argyll, and a support vessel, Sir Percivale, would be easily seen by the people of Freetown and serve as a symbol of reassurance.
He said they would be "visible, clear evidence of Britain's commitment."
Mr Cook added that a team of about 200 soldiers would remain to train the Sierra Leone arrmy.
The foreign secretary told President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah the ships and trrops would stay on as part of Britain's long-term support for the war-torn country.
The assurance came during talks at the heavily-guarded State House in Freetown.
Last month, Britain sent a naval taskforce and more than 1,000 troops to Sierra Leone to support government and United Nations forces against rebels who control much of the interior.
People in Freetown have been organising a petition to ask the British to stay.

I read an article where people in Freetown were asking to be re-colonised???!!!!

They seem to trust the british forces more than the Nigerian ones- don't blame them if that film is to be believed.

What do you think about Cook's attempt to block diamond sales by the "rebels"(isn't there a better word?)

Hey, this site needs a shake-up, we might even be on the same side for once!!!LOL

The colonialists before leaving Africa made sure that the borders were always the bone of contention. The legacy of years of brutal slavery and colonialism is the root cause of all problems in Africa and elsewhere. Now the Europeans are enjoying the carnage and looking for ways to neo colonize the continent. The left over puppets are the despicable remnants of the ertswhile colonialists and have become the dictators serving their masters elsewhere. All those puppets have amassed fortunes after looting the country bare. That looting and banditry happened with full connivance of the Europeans who now pose as mere spectators

I hear envy in your voice. How unapreciative - you are getting educated by those "pure-evil" Europeans and americans that you hate so much. And don't worry - Taliban will get it up the arse one way or another. The little Parasito Bin Laden will survive just fine, he'll just relocate to Pakistan and let the Agans suffer and blame those mean, lean Europeans. You can always find someone to blame, just point the finger the way you do.

Dimitri, I tend to agree about the finger pointing. People want to blame others for there problems. Look at the break up of Yugoslavia. Some like to believe everything was A-OK but the the west conspired to break it up for some reason. They can't seem to understand the fact that people in Slovina Croacia, Bosnia , etc. didn't want to live under Belgade rule. One of the only reason Yugoslavia was held together for years was because it was acommunist country in which the barrel of a gun was pointed at peoples heads by the central communist government.

Viva Chechnya
LIST KEEPER
pease add:
Khala Barayeva, 22, Chechen women fighter, cousin of Arbi

(info for Saladin)
...has wasted her life in the Kamikaze attact that has shaken the earth under the village of Alkhan-Yur. She has mistakingly joined the caravan of victims. She has become a sorry model for millions of faithful around the world. Alkan Khala has turned into a instant peace grinder for chechen civilians.
Basayev's word that he has brainwashed Kamikaze fighters has come true. Dozens of endoctrinated ignorants are waiting in line to taste the fruit of death. Now the cruel drama unleashed by Evil Fanatism will reach its climax and Russian heads for greater pace.

It is a reminder that Islamist aspiration for martydom has no parallel in cruelty and sordidness. In the materialistic western world the slogan is 'be rich' and in Caucasus it is 'die'. Martyr only in the rank of the Russian Army.

I just find it sad that a young woman killed herself at the behest of a bunch of thugs, only to be treated with such disrespect.
