Let us not lose site of the fact that in war, it's not "who's right or wrong,"unfortunitly,

Dimitri, As far as an independent opinion, here the way I see it. I just hope the Russians get this thing over with. I don't these Chechen fighters as any type of friend to the USA. They are probably more like the Talaban. Hey guys remember us the USA the country that gave you the stingers to help win....why not show some dam gratatude and give us Bin Laden. No? Ungrateful bastards. Anyway I see the Russian army in a Vietnam type of possition. The US army went looking for Charlie. The problem was they couldn't tell the difference in a Carlie that might shoot at them or a Charlie who just wanted nothing to do with the war what so ever. On the leveling of Gronzny. If the Russians didn't bomb bared the city and just went in. I think the same ammount of people would have been killed if not more (especally on the Russian side) . Street fighting is the toughest of all types of warfare. See Berlin 1945. Which is why Gen. Ike found out they could use 100,000 taking the city he said, "Uh let the Russians do it."
