Dimitri,

from the same article...

"Late on Thursday, the UN Security Council met in
emergency session to discuss the Sierra Leone
situation. Secretary-General Kofi Annan called for
additional UN troops to be sent and admitted they
had been woefully prepared for their mission.

Afterwards, Mr Annan said that resolving the
crisis had become a crucial test for the
international community.

British defence chief Sir Charles Guthrie is visiting
Sierra Leone to see for himself the situation
facing the 1,000 British troops based there.

The UK Government maintains that while the UN
peacekeepers await reinforcements, the troops
will remain offering technical and logistical support
but will not take on a combat role."

What the Force commander on the ground would like to do, and what they decide in London may be very different. Don't know I'm just guessing.

Drake,
to answer your question, if I may - I think it was more of a local issue; the local commanders desided to "ponadeialis' na russkiy avos'"..unfortunatelly this isn't the first time it happened throughout the history.

good night all.

Kim,

Check your mail over this weekend. Bisou.

As the result of a special operation carried out by federal security forces in the village of Asinovskaya, a notorious Chechen kidnapper Musa Merzhuyev and one of his accomplices were detained today by the police. Merzhuyev and his brothers were at the core of criminal gang that specialized in kidnapping people in Chechnya. Merzhuyev was also a member of the so-called "Bamutsky battalion," which have seen some heavy action against Russian forces. Russian police officials are confident that they will catch the rest of Merzhuyev's gang in the very near future.

Kim,
right you are, guessing is the best we can do. However(!), if things continue to get nasty, I wouldn't be surprised if London over-rules their decision.

Bon nuit, madame.

Dear Kim Arx,

I've informed Dr.Dremov that you've opened a competitive practice and you are trying to cure sexual, ethnic and religious slur on this board with honey, love and kind words.

Dr.Dremov expresses a joy and his gratitude. The mission you've embarked on so graciously is hard, but noble. He wishes you all the best in treating rooskis and he is absolutely sure in a great success of your practice.

All we need is love! Is there any after sex?

Best regards,
Apprentice of the Master.

P.S. I'll keep you posted in your endeavors.

Hi L'menexe,

um that was my fault....
I meant our anonomous peabrains are usually on AOL, cause that makes it harder to trace them.
Though not that much harder.
You yourself being the exception to the rule.
How's you? Long time no see.

This board is supposed to discuss the russian invasion to Chechneya. I see all people are talking about things far from that topic. Please, stick to the topic the board is designed for, to remind you, I will just say phuck the russians and their garbage leader, Putin.

Thanks.

Dear Kim Arx,

Doctor was overjoyed to hear you. In his own words, "never ever a lady should attempt to give a flying f*ck to anyone, but her husband".

Doctor also encourages all tracers on this board just chase each other instead of f*cking flies. It's too damn tricky for starters.

Think of pills and choose wisely next week.

Best of luck,
Apprentice of the Master.

>>>Its hard to believe out of 22 guys there was only 6 guns between them. What type of unit was this , a bunch of cooks, or are the Russians that short of equipment. Or is this simply not true, or did they think they wouldn't need guns. Interesting.<<<

GOTTA LOVE Western Media. They either don't have all information or they don't won't to give all information they want. Ok, ok, any media.

Those guys were in INGUSHETIA. They weren't part of the 'anti-terrorist' operation. They were simply conscripts who served their time in Ingushetia (NOTHING TO DO WITH CHECHNYA, they might as well somewhere near Moscow, or Far East). They finished serving and were on their way home. "Brave Mujahideen" killed a bunch of 18 year olds. I bet they are very proud.
