MASKHADOV'S WIFE HEADS FOR TURKEY
Maskhadov's wife Kusama and his daughter travelled to Istanbul on Thursday after a day in ex-Soviet Georgia, which borders Chechnya.
Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze told Russian television she had passed through Georgia ''quite legally.'' Kusama said she planned to visit her son in Malaysia but vowed to return to Chechnya in about a month to ''be with my people.''

Paratroopers begin Freetown airlift
About 250 paratroopers have secured Lungi airport
British paratroopers who landed at Sierra Leone's main airport outside the capital Freetown on Monday have begun evacuating British and other foreign nationals from the city.
The evacuation follows a day of violence in Freetown, as thousands of people marched on the home of rebel leader Foday Sankoh, calling on him to respect the 1999 Lome peace accord.
The helicopter carrier HMS Ocean, the frigate HMS Chatham and three support ships are expected in the area, with naval personnel and about 400 Royal Marine commandos.
Tense situation
But the Foreign Secretary made it clear that British troops had no long-term combat role in Sierra Leone.

Russians arrested in Chicago in fraud scheme
CHICAGO, May 8 (Reuters) - Three Russian nationals have been arrested in Chicago after entering the country with fraudulently obtained visas designed to hide planned financial crimes, the U.S. Justice Department said on Monday.
Four others were being sought in the scheme, according to Scott Lassar, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, who said the operation was centred in St. Petersburg where a U.S. consular employee helped facilitate it.
Arrested on Saturday were Igor Galitskiy, 42, Victor Semenov, 44, and Laryssa Yakovleva, 49, all of St. Petersburg. The announcement said Galitskiy was employed by the U.S. Agriculture Department at the St. Petersburg consulate to pass on visa applications for Russians seeking U.S. trade opportunities.
``The travel applicants, who sought entry on the pretext of attending a food marketing convention in Chicago, were entering possibly to travel to other locations to commit financial fraud,'' the announcement said. A major convention, the supermarket industry's annual trade show, is under way in Chicago.
The three were charged with conspiracy to commit visa fraud. In addition agents said they had issued arrest warrants on the same charges for four others -- Irina Kramchanina, 40, Anatoly Minaev, 30, Tatiana Yusupova, 54 and an individual known only as ``Alex,'' all of St. Petersburg.
As part of the same scheme last autumn as many as 11 individuals came from St. Petersburg to Chicago on the pretext of attending a food convention, the announcement said. But several of them, it said, travelled elsewhere, opened large bank accounts with money supplied them, made expensive purchases and then withdrew the funds before the bills hit.
One of them, who is cooperating with the government, was arrested in Denver in 1999 and pleaded guilty to making fraudulent purchases totalling more than $80,000, the announcement said.
Mary Mary, very hairy,
How does your garden grow?
With fishy smells and c*cks with bells,
She got laid 9 times in a row
There was a young girl called Brenda,
And valentines gifts I would send her,
When she opened the card,
Me d*ck got hard,
It was a present she'd always remember!
There was an old bird called Betty,
Whos feet were rather sweaty,
She mistook her socks,
For a number of c*cks,
And now all she likes is cheese.
PS. What do you call a Russian with 3 balls?
