Lets give a deep thought about who is going to win and who is going to lose from the rumpus in the west bank. A couple of weeks ago "dickman" Arafat, Prime Minister Barak, and President Clinton all gathered in a summit in Camp David. For the first time in the history of the Middle East conflict, the Israeli Prime Minister, Barak, offered 95% of area including a far-reaching proposal in Jerusalem. After many consultations with Arab leaders including President of Egypt, Mubarak, Arafat decided to reject Barak's offer and the summit exploded. The U.S. blamed the Palestinians for the failure in the negotiations for an agreement in the middle east. The Palestinians and Chairman Arafat were presented as peace objectors in the international arena. By taking this step, Chairman Arafat pushed himself into an uncomfortable corner and invited a lot of international pressure, flexing his approach. Chairman Arafat, obviously, decided to be rescued from the unpleasant situation of international pressure and at the same time to gain more than what Barak offered in the Camp David summit. It is important to mention that the Palestinian Authority is not a democratic body and is, in fact, a dictatorship. And as it has been proven in history, when a dictator is in hardship, there is no limit to the imagination and fearlessness of his plans that are supposed to rescue him from this hardship. Arafat decided to wear the image of the "poor and the robbed" individual. How did Arafat get to this outcome? After years of experience of manipulations and half-lies to the international media, that needs to sell news, Arafat knew how to do it. Sending children, women, and civilians to attack Israeli soldiers and order his army, that is fully armed and has full control, to let them do it. He knew that it is a matter of time until one of those people will get hurt. He knew that this is filmed well and will enable him to gain points. Needless to say, that this is a tool of a totalitarian leader, who will have his own children and women killed while having the power to stop it. Moreover, Arafat gave orders to his officers to shoot Israeli soldiers and heat the environment more. Arafat was looking for the appropriate time to start the riots from suspicion that the Clinton Administration will publish a new negotiations proposal that is based on the outcome of the failed Camp David, and he would be represented as the one who objects to peace in the Middle East. So now it was only a question of timing. Ariel Sharon's visit, was used as an excuse to begin the riots exactly like the Intifada of the 80's started from an excuse that was simply a car accident between an Arab and a Jew. It needs to be noted, that the Palestanians claimed that they could have control over the holy sites and let every religion have open access to the sites. However, when they use Ariel Sharon as an excuse for provocation they cut the branch that they sat on. The international community cannot sit in quiet like they did in Rwanda, Somalia, and other disputed areas in the world without contact with oil. In addition, countries like Russia, France, and the U.N organization were just waiting for the opportunity to ride on this horse and buy the so called "mediator status." The question is now what does Arafat want? It is clear that Arafat wants more than what was offered by Barak in Camp David. He can reach it only from a new mediator because he did not agree to the compromise that the U.S. offered. His immediate target is to be the victim of the full force of Israel's attack and thus have an intervention by other countries in his favor. He can reach this only through encouragement of violence from his side and manipulation. Israel is trapped between the need to react and restore order or to be a pawn in Arafat's game. In the last 48 hours, that Israel's leadership tried ... and tried ... it's tired now.
P.S. While the Jews, with our World-known instinct of protecting of our kids, would've run stumbling and falling but still carrying our kiddies away from any danger, - the Palestinians deliberately bring theirs into the live fire. And anyone sporting a bare asss in front of gun barrels is sure get it ... right up his ... !
